Seven’s POV
“You came,” Shantelle said the moment she saw me. I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me that she was happy to see me, but she was frowning. It was funny because I wouldn’t have pegged her as someone who could pine for someone. I couldn’t believe she was standing there. It was like she was waiting for me.
It was funny to me, but I wouldn’t show it. I didn’t want her to feel some type of way. This isn’t how I would want this to go.
“I did,” I said, smiling and coming closer to her. “You wanted a chaperone; I am here for the role.”
It was funny that I didn’t have a plan when I was driving over here, but looking at her and how attractive she looked, it was best to start on the foot that I was happy to be here.
