Chapter 131. Over Anyone

"What will I do now?" Bernard asked Tomiwa helplessly; the two of them were sitting on the chair outside Marissa's ward.

It's been three days now, and the doctors have given a declaration that she is out of harm's way now. All the residues of the poison were totally out of her system, and her organs are doing fine as well. Yet Marissa has not been awake yet. Dr. Feranmi had said that probably the shock had been too much for her when the unfortunate incident had happened, so her subconscious was shying away from waking up to face reality.

"She would be fine." Dr. Feranmi had reassured the family again that morning on his way to his hospital, and he had turned to Bernard when the latter had walked him out.

"She will be fine," he repeated. "That is one very strong lady, and I can assure you that she wouldn't give up that easily," he assured him, clapping his hands on Bernard's shoulder as they moved.

"Are you sure, doctor?" Bernard had asked with uncertainty.
