Chapter 136. She Hates Me
"I know, Marissa. I am so sorry about that. None of us wished for this. I am deeply sorry."
"I….I….." Marissa beat her fists against her chest as it became so difficult for her to continue her words. Helen Babalola moved out of the doctor's way as he sat on the bed, facing Marissa.
"I know, I know. I can't pretend to say I know exactly how you feel right now, but I sympathize with you, Rissa. Please, you have to take heart." The man held her hands and Marissa tightened her hold on him like he was her lifeline.
Bernard saw the gesture and he averted his eyes as pain filled his eyes. Tomiwa came to stand closer to him as she had seen what Marissa's rejection of him had done to him. She laid her hand on his shoulder and he looked at her face
