Chapter 287. Love-Lit Home
Bernard entered the room in haste, expecting to see her there, but she was nowhere to be found. Then he noticed that the door to his walk-in closet was lit with a muted glow, and he was amazed by what he saw. Though he had been partially expecting that when he saw the boy’s room downstairs, he didn’t want to have any high hopes, as anything is possible when it comes to Marissa. The sight of her clothes on the rack next to his was enough to bring tears to his eyes as a thought came to his mind: “At last.”
He looked around and saw that there had been a little redecoration done in the room as well, with the curtains and the decor. Joy filled his heart as he looked back and saw an enlarged picture of the two of them on the wall next to the Michelangelo art. Now that he thought of it, he could remember bypassing some such portraits on his way upstairs, but in his rush, he had not really acknowledged them then.
