The next few weeks passed peacefully, which was good.
With the house repairs completed, I had little else to occupy my free time except keeping an eye on Sasha. My daughter already walked with great confidence and had an insatiable curiosity; she wanted to touch (and taste) everything. She tried to escape from the house a couple of times, and I caught her eagerly sniffing a bottle of dishwashing gel. The delicious smell of strawberry had tempted her, and my heart almost jumped out of my mouth when I saw it. From that day on, I only bought lemon detergents and put them at the top of the cupboard, and I placed special locks on all the doors of the bajomesada. I also put a high bolt on each door, so she couldn’t open them.
Thank God my daughter was not curious about the plugs; their smell did not seem to attract her.
