Chapter 84
“Heraclitus!” I called out again, my voice carried away by the wind.
No response. My heart sank, a heavy weight settling in my chest. I prayed that he had made it to safety, just as I had.
Cautiously, I began to explore the shoreline, searching for any signs of life or civilization. My steps were unsteady, each one a reminder of the battle I had fought against the raging sea.
I trudged along, my hope flickering with each passing moment. And then, like a beacon of light in the darkness, I spotted a figure in the distance.
“Heraclitus!” I shouted, relief flooding through me.
He turned towards me, his face a mix of exhaustion and relief. We stumbled towards each other, embracing tightly.
“We made it, man,” I said, my voice filled with gratitude.
“Where exactly are we?” He asked, scanning the shoreline.
“That’s the thing isn’t it?” A voice said behind us, causing us to jump in surprise. It was the captain, trudging towards us with some men
