Xenophon thought for a moment. “We can’t run from them,” he said. “Not forever, We have to fight them now once and for all.”
“what?” Typos asked, his eyes widening in shock.
“But we’re outnumbered,” I said.
“And outgunned,” Heraclitus added.
“I know,” Xenophon said. “But we have to do something. We can’t let them take the gift.”
“The captain is right.” A voice whispered causing us all to jump.
I turned around sharply to see where the voice had come from. Lady Marcella slipped out of the darkness, approaching the campfire quietly, wrapped up in a black cloak.
“Lady, you have to stop sneaking up on us like that.” Typos grumbled, trying to recover from the shock.
Marcella ignored him. “The pirates must know of this gift,” she started, stepping into the light of the camp fire. “It is a pirate legend after all.”
