Chapter 14. Francis's Proposal

“Here, you’ve missed this medicine," said Claire, at last, taking out an untouched blister pack. "No wonder you’re in pain. What will I do with you?” she exclaimed as she handed him a pill along with a bottle of water. Nate swallowed it and kept the bottle of water back on his nightstand. 

“Kiss me. I’ll be better,” he said in a serious tone. Claire rolled her eyes.

“How can you say these things so casually, Nate? No wonder nearly all girls you meet end up being your girlfriend. But I’m not one of them. I have allowed you here not because I’m dying to have s*x with you, but out of humanity. So please stay within your limits,” she said, her eyes flashing in anger. Nate gaped at her with shock. He had no idea why she was overreacting. 

“What’s wrong with you? I’m just kidding with you. I like you, obviously. You were fine with kissing your fake fiancé, weren’t you? You only seem to have problems with me,” he stated with a long face. Claire got up abruptly, f
