Chapter 19. Greg's Threat

Claire walked up to the door slowly and opened it to see an angry Chris standing at her doorstep, glaring at her. “What’s the meaning of all this, Claire? Couldn’t you inform me? I could have come to take you home with me. Why have you moved in here?” He asked, looking agitated, brushing past her into the apartment. Claire didn’t want him to come inside as it might wake up Nate. 

“Chris, I’ll talk to you later, please. It was an emergency and my landlord wanted me to vacate ASAP,” she said warily.

“That’s okay, I understand, but why did you have to move in with him?” asked Chris angrily, his angry eyes searching for Nate.

“Did I have a choice?” said Claire, not liking his mood. It seemed as if he was searching for Nate, wanting to pick up a fight with him. Chris turned to give her a look of disbelief.
