Chapter 18. Only One Bed in Nate's Apartment

After breakfast, Nate insisted she packed up. They would vacate in a day so that she could hand over the keys to the apartment as soon as her landlord refunded her the security deposit. 

“I’m injured else I would have helped, but I'll talk to the security guy to help us shift when he gets off duty. I’ll give him something extra, and he’ll do it willingly,” said Nate. Claire nodded and started packing. After a while, Nate’s brothers, Drake and Alexis, dropped by with Aries and Andrea. They were happy to see them all patched up. 

“Why are you guys packing?” asked a puzzled Aries. 

“We’re shifting to Nate’s apartment today. My contract with my landlord will end in a month. He wants to increase the rent and I can’t afford it any longer,” said Claire with a sigh, looking stressed and nervous. 

“That’s the most sensible thing to do,” said Drake. 

“I’m trying to tell her that, but she insists on paying me rent instead,” said Nate wi
