Chapter 28. The Wait

Vienna reached the terrace and sat on the swing, looking up at the night sky. The night and the lone bright star looking over her calmed her. It made her feel like her dad was near her, looking over at her. ''I wish you would take me with you, dad, I have no one,'' she said as a tear fell from her eyes.

"You have me, princess," said Sean softly. Vienna looked up at him standing beside her. She quickly wiped her eyes, got up, and rushed towards the door. She had no wish to be with him after the humiliation that he made her feel. Couldn't he have kissed her forehead at the game? Yet he just left, making her feel like a piece of shit who didn't deserve to be kissed by him. He could have refrained from visiting Barbara after what she had done to Vienna, yet he didn't.
