Chapter 18
I stood still, looking at the large, bulky wooden door. After a lot of convincing from Killian, I decided to stay. My wolf felt reassured by Killian’s vow of fidelity and love; I, on the other hand, wasn’t too sure. I felt dread in my veins and a feeling in me—a feeling that screamed that things would change, for better or for worse, maybe, but something would change. And as much as I hated to admit it, I was scared of what the future held.
Once I stepped through those doors, there was no turning back. I’d be their Luna. This would be my home. I would rule beside Killian for the rest of my life, and damn it, I was scared of it.
“Genesis,” Killian said, looking into my eyes nervously. I knew he thought I was having second thoughts about all of this. In truth, I was. My body was numb, my heart was rapidly beating—no doubt he heard it.
“Just… just give me a moment.”
