Chapter 20
His eyes glowed a deep blood red in the dimly lit room; the sun had now set below the mountains in the west. The moon was out, casting shadows in the farthest corners of the room, mixing with the orange hues of the desk lamp next to me.
My skin prickled at his intense gaze. I smelled his arousal; it was thick in the air. My wolf responded; I felt flushed. I wanted him. I desired him—something my wolf and I agreed on.
“You look so beautiful,” he growled. It brushed through me, making my nerves stand on end.
“Thank you,” I managed to say, barely. My throat felt so dry.
“You’d look even better spread beneath me,” he smirked as he smelled the air, my arousal mixed with his. I wanted this. I was ready for this. I wanted to be his mate. I wanted him to be mine, and I wanted him to be mine.
