Green, cream, and hazel—that was the color palette we had agreed upon after a full-on war between me, Aurora, and Nana Hellen. But in the end, all was well… sort of. The real battle was about to begin. I was hesitant to leave the pack house. Killian had looked me straight in the eye and warned me. He had even sounded worried. It had been bugging me, like a ticking sound in the back of my head.

Nana Hellen and Aurora weren’t having any of it. I’d used all the excuses in the book not to leave the pack house. I’d told them I had a headache, and when that didn’t work, I even attempted to fake sleep, hoping they’d leave me alone.

Other packs had villages or little towns. Amoria had a city—and a city with all the bells and whistles: skyscrapers, shops, malls, commercial parking spaces. It had it all.
