Chapter 28
The woman stared at me for a moment, her eyes cold, as if she could shoot lasers at me at any instant. Her gaze wandered to Killian and me, both intertwined, and the scowl on her face deepened as she stared at us. Natalia had regained her composure; her face was flushed pink from crying, her hair a knotted mess from shifting so fast.
“Mum, let’s just go.”
They left the room in a fit of rage, spiteful words trailing in their wake. The room was still, but not as much as when they had been around. Killian was back in his seat, his previous meal placed casually on his lap as he continued to eat slowly, without a care in the world.
The rest of the wolves were back to their game, cheering and facing the wide television with utmost concentration. Aurora and I were the only ones still affected by the abrupt incident.
