My wolf and I had had enough. It isn’t that I was jealous—maybe I had been just a tad bit—but it was the disrespect. Natalia had challenged my place in the pack for far too long, and my wolf seemed to agree with me. I snarled, and she took a step back.
I had let this go on far enough. I did understand Natalia in a way. To have the man you had been waiting for slip away from your grasp just like that—it must be devastating to watch it all unfold. But she had a mate somewhere in the world… or maybe she didn’t.
“I want to change things around the pack house. I am the Luna.”
Her face grew red, her body trembling. She was shifting, and I was panicking. It happened—the cracking of bones—and a full-blooded female Lycan snapped toward me. I dodged it.
My wolf roared within me.
