“Killian,” I managed to croak out, my throat sore from holding back the tears that threatened to flow. He didn’t answer. He just sat there.
He said nothing, did nothing, just sat there while everyone around me fussed. My hand was in Nana Helen’s as she tried to stop the bleeding.
