The cabin was dirty, but it looked so cozy.
Will stared at it all, almost as if he were mourning something he had lost, reliving the past in his head. I understood what he was feeling. Losing someone so important to you is the most painful thing a person can experience.
When I had lost everything and everyone, there were so many days I wanted to end it all. Some wolves do in the end; most of them hang themselves or take their own lives. They don’t know how to move on from the pain. Their only hope is to create new bonds. When a shifter loses a loved one, it’s like losing their will to live—they become hollow. The pain they go through can be described as falling into an abyss of eternal longing. That’s why they are always together. A shifter family could have over five members; the tightness of it all makes it easier to get through a loss.
