Chapter 9. The Moon
Cybele looked at Aurora as if she were talking to someone senile. Those strange people spoke of the moon as if it were a being like them that held the answers to all those supernatural bizarre things, and that bothered her. She knew there was something strange going on, but logic defied belief.
She believed that the tribe had been brought up in a closed civilization and was limited to believing in legends. She believed that everything strange that happened had some rational explanation.
She realized that her mother was staring at her as if she could read her thoughts, which were not at all flattering, and she took a deep breath.
"And how am I going to talk to the moon? Will it hear me if I shout?" She asked debauchedly.
Aurora laughed.
"You're more like your father than we'd like." She said in an insulting tone. "Come with me, Cybele. I'll take you to a place where the moon will hear you without you having to sho
