Chapter 47. Rejection
Elara POV
My heart is thumping as Cinder leads me through the pack house. I am trying my best to fight back the tears welling in my eyes. I have to remain strong. The triplets have to think I don’t want them anymore.
Cinder stops outside of a door and turns to me. “Do you want me to go in with you?” It is the first nice thing she has said to me since we met, but I know I need to do this alone.
“No,” I reply. “I don’t want them to feel ganged up on.”
“It’s two against three,” Cinder replies.
“Just wait here,” I sigh. “I am assuming you can watch everything from out here.”
“No,” she says. “My talents end with mind reading.”
“Awesome,” I mutter under my breath.
I open the door, and the triplets swarm around me. They twist me around in a circle, lift my arms, and sniff my scent.
“Step away from me,” I snarl.
They do as they are commanded, but they don’t give me much space. Zane is hovering over me, and I know he is waiti
