Chapter 58. They Are Here

Zeus POV

Dinner is awkward. Sabrina has spent the whole time glaring at Elara and Phoenix, and Zane has spent the whole time growling at Sabrina.

Rose is doing her best to take part in the small talk at the table, but it is clear she is frustrated. After a rocky start, things are like they were before Elara left. Inside jokes are brought up, and we all laugh like nothing has changed. Rose and Sabrina eventually fade into the background.

Phoenix yawns loudly and leans his head against Elara’s chest. His eyes grow heavy, and he begins to snore.

“I think this guy is ready for bed,” Elara says, getting to her feet.

“You can use the clubhouse,” Mom says. “It has been empty since you left.”

The sadness in her voice causes tears to spring to Elara’s eyes. She is choking back her sobs and is unable to speak. Luckily, Cyra never seems to be short on words.
