Chapter 61. Loss

I reach out through the pack link to Cyra now that the battle is over. I knew putting them in the safe room with Sabrina was a risk, and I need to know they or okay.

I call her name several times through the mind link, but there is no answer. My throat feels thick and my heart is pounding. My legs feel like lead as I try to rush through the destruction to the pack house.

Zane and Zeus are sitting on the front porch, trying to catch their breath. They try to stop me, but I growl dangerously in their direction. Pushing past the people in the pack house, I snarl at anyone who tries to get in my way. The door to the safe room is still closed. My fingers desperately fumble with the keypad, trying to get it open. Each code I put in is wrong, and I scream in anger. Someone pulls me away from the door and enters the correct code. I am blind to which triplet it is as I push my way into the room.

Blood covers the walls, and my eyes search the small roo
