“Could you believe those two? Could you believe my mother? I mean, I couldn’t sleep last night because of them. If I could just get my hands on Jim,” he said, mimicking strangling him in the air. He was pacing back and forth, throwing his arms in every direction and fuming with anger.

Alice understood how Chris felt because if she was in his position, she would’ve acted the same way or even done worse.

Seeing Chris this angry really scared her and made her worried about him if his mother decided to actually marry Jim. Chris never got upset over anything. He was always calm and quiet. He never let things get to him. But seeing him this angry meant he was really upset.

Jim was a good man. He lost his wife and his only kid in a car accident years ago, and he hadn’t found love until he met Shannon. In some aspects, Alice didn’t see any negative side of their union. Chris wasn’t even giving them a chance.
