"I am really pleased that, in spite of all the challenges, you chose to become a part of my team." As soon as Scarlett entered his office, Jerry remarked.
"I never claimed that I would be part of your team." She informed him, and his lips closed in bewilderment. Her reply surprised him.
"Oh, I assumed it would be an obvious yes since you visited me at the hospital and expressed a desire to see me."
"In which reality does that constitute a definite yes?" She lifted an eyebrow at him.
"Well, look up here. There's a world in my head and that's where it is." He expressed it while wearing a hesitant expression. "I apologize for making assumptions; I was simply happy to see you."
"I understand that."
He invited her to take a seat, and after she settled in, he joined her. "If you are not present to respond to my offer, it suggests that your purpose here is to see me. What do you want to drink?" he asked,
