Zachary's POV

Zachary's knee struck the ground as he secured the doors around the entrance to the Shadow Realm and firmly shut them. The entrance closed off once he completed his task, yet all his energy had been spent. Similar to the last full moon, the attacks occurred, but in contrast to that time, there were fewer people to defend against them. 

As Shawn was restricted to his room with his spouse, Zachary had to depend on himself, Sven, and Anna. He believed he might not survive the night; maybe the knowledge that he had acted rightly would bring him some comfort in the midst of it all. He expelled blood from his mouth and discarded the remaining bit he had been holding. He was losing blood from every part of his body, and the strength he had was gradually depleting would never return to him.
