Zachary's POV

Zachary paused at the entrance of Elijah and Michael's room, taking a deep breath to muster the courage to step inside. Since Scarlett's departure, this task has turned into the most challenging obligation he faced each day. Looking directly at his sons when they appear downcast, aware that he played a part in their feelings. Upon discovering from a fellow pupil that he had driven their mother away, the boys' feelings shifted from sorrow in his presence to rage. It deteriorated with each day that went by. 

Entering and seeing them frightened him more than anything else. These were his children, and this was an aspect of his duty as their dad. He will stay with them and ensure their safety until their mother comes back, which will be shortly. Just one more full moon.
