Chapter 31. Rejected

Valerie was shocked. How did Wayne learn of her pregnancy? As he thought no one else knew. She wasn’t going to allow his assumptions deter her.

“You are surely mistaken!” she said laughing nervously. “I was never pregnant, unfortunately. It seemed that my sacrifice in marrying your brother was for nought, I regret to say!” she answered sorrowfully. “But that’s not my fault nor was it from lack of trying. I know that I had to endure your brother’s touch only by pretending I was with you but I wanted to give him an heir but alas fate had other plans for all of us. I believe we are destined to be together you and I and that’s why things turned out the way they did,” she said and when kept looking at her, she continued. “Let’s get married soonest so that I can give you an heir at the soonest!”

She looked up with shock at him when he started clapping with a smile on his face as he looked at her in a condescending manner.

“Bravo!” he said. “You cannot wait to get married
