Chapter 55
Letting go
After a long thought, Shirley decided to let go of everything.
After days and weeks of contemplation, Shirley finally decided to put an end to her long-term beef with Genie. Although it seemed the other party in the disagreement was more content with the status quo, Shurley had concluded that a change was necessary for her well-being.
In the midst of all this, Shirley began to realize that it was she alone who was constantly fighting and arguing; Genie, however, continued to remain calm and nonchalant throughout. This served as a major factor in Shirley's epiphany that their conflict was only one-sided and far from healthy.
What had started as a minor disagreement between friends, soon ballooned into a full-blown quarrel that seemed to be never-ending. Nevertheless, Shirley had had enough and wanted to move forward in life.
It was a difficult decision for her to make, but ultimately one that was essential for her mental health. No longer
