"I am sorry Richard, as much as I have been looking forward to resuming work I will have to turn in my resignation letter," Martina said over the phone as she sat on the couch watching TV. 

When she got back home, she barely freshened up when she got a message from Richard telling her she could resume work immediately. If the situation were different, she would have been happy and looking forward to it but right now her priorities were her father's estate and getting everything on that will in her name. 

In reality, she didn't need the job, her father's legacy had left her with a substantial inheritance, enough to last her a lifetime. She had only pursued a career in journalism because of her passion for the truth and her desire to make a difference. And yet, here she was, considering resigning from her position at Trueline Investigations. 

Richard's voice on the other end of the line was persuasive, "I understand how you feel Martina but-"
