Book 2: Chapter 35
She scrolled through her contact list and dialed Ares' number. The phone rang twice and on the third ring Ares picked up the call, “What do you want Sophie? Are the maids not attending to you?” He asked, his voice laced with annoyance.
“Where are you Ares?” Sophie asked. “I saw some of your men patrolling the-”
“How many times do we need to go over this, Sophie?” Ares interrupted her, a sigh of frustration escaping his lips. “My business isn't your concern. Whatever my men choose to do or not to do is not your concern,” he added.
Sophie frowned as Ares spoke, she knew it wasn't her concern. According to the agreement they had with each other, they were not to indulge in each other's business, but Sophie didn't like it when Ares spoke to her in this tone. It felt like he had no regard for her.
“I don't mean to upset you, Ares, I was only worried about you. I left you in the study and the next minute the maid is telling me you left the mansion,” she
