The next morning, soft rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the luxurious bedroom. Martina stirred, slowly awakening from a deep and restful sleep. She stretched her limbs, feeling the softness of the bed beneath her and the comfort it provided. 

Memories of the previous evening flooded her mind, bringing a small smile to her lips.

She glanced around the room, expecting to see Ares sleeping next to her, but the space was empty. She recalled him mentioning he had work to catch up on in his study last night and might not come to bed for the night. Martina sat up, running a hand through her tousled hair, and listened to the quiet of the morning.

She still couldn't believe everything that had happened yesterday, from the attempted murder to being intimate with Ares and Sophie getting sent to jail. She could only hope that moving forward, her life could finally go back to being normal again.
