Her heart pounded in her chest as she stared at him, a mix of fear and confusion swirling in her mind. What could Dominic possibly want with her? And more importantly, why was he here?
She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "What do you want?" she asked, her voice trembling despite her efforts to sound strong.
Dominic leaned forward, his gaze unwavering. "When they told me it was a woman who got one of my men killed, I felt the need to see it for myself."
"I don't understand," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Your man got himself killed not me not me."
Dominic stared at Sophie, he couldn't believe the nerve of this woman to speak to him in such tone. Not only had she looked at him like he was nothing, she didn't look remorseful for the crime he heard she was placed in here for. If anything, she looked exhausted.
