Chapter 73. Palpation
Her heart is pounding against her chest, sweat grazing her brows as she enters the well-lit office. The image of a man in a brown checked suit and ox-blood colored designer shoes takes the center of her visual field. She halts.
“Good afternoon, boss.” She greets.
“Lanre for you, my darling.” He lets out a deep seethed chuckle.
“Lanre,” She adds, trying to sound as professional as she can, interlocking her fingers with each other.
“Good.” He giggles, his mustache dancing below his nose. He relaxes on his office table, and beside him is an expensive bottle of brandy, two glass cups, and an ash tray where a cigar rests on. Slowly, he pours himself a drink, then faces Lara.
“You drink?” He asks.
“No, thank you, Sir.”
“Lanre!” He snaps and her muscles tighten.
“Forgive me, Lanre.”
“Come here.” He orders her, gesturing that she comes closer. All her life she has never felt this vulnerable and at the mercy of some random man. She hates
