“Explain it to me, that’s all I ask!” Kim snaps!

“I don’t know! Okay? I don’t know…” Tears gather in Lara’s eyes but she puts in sufficient effort to fight them off. Nonetheless, her voice is heavy.

“Ever since I got pregnant, strange things have been happening to me. I see things, have dreams, and hear voices. Believe me, it’s unlike anything I have ever experienced. It’s so real! I even had to visit a spiritualist for help…”

“A spiritualist?”

“Yes. Cathy suggested it. I didn’t think it was worth a try until my doctor’s recommendations stopped working.”

“You’re trying to say this is not a medical issue?”

“No! The spiritualist even thinks I’m…” Lara pauses, wondering if it is necessary to say this part. “You know know what? Forget it.”

“Lara, what did the spiritualist say?” Kim responds with raised eyebrows, her words rendered with utmost precision, and her gaze digging holes into Lara’s soul. Kim had stood by her this per
