Chapter 109

Alex arrived as the sun poked its head into the sky. Ryan was about to grab the rest of the guys and burst into the Alpha’s isle castle again.

“I had to get the rest of the shifters out. Most of them have been captured. This was a beautiful trap,” Alex explained.

“Casualties?” Kade asked.

My mate and best friend stared at each other. The usual Alpha male tension was there.

“Too many to count,” Alex said. “Kahn survived. No surprise there, but he’s coming for us. We have to be prepared. Ryan, move out,” Alex ordered.

Leiah and I were going to Sanders. Emery was keen to go home and be with her parents. I might not see her for a while. She was still with Tristan, even though she was still seething.

“Em, I’m so sorry—”

“No, I don’t want to talk about it,” she said, tugging on the oversized shirt Tristan gave her.

“You don’t have to keep it all in—“

“Please, I can’t. Not right now,” she pleaded. Her eyes glossed over.
