Gabbie POV
“Really, Grandma, he won’t let me leave the house. He’s got me trapped.”
“It’s not that bad, Gabbie,” Athena said. I could hear her chopping something.
“I’m telling you. I’ve practically been kidnapped.”
“If only someone wrote a book about how overprotective males wolves can be when their mate’s pregnant. Give it time, Gabbie, he’ll lighten up.”
“Was it the same with you and Grandpa?”
“Oh no, dear. I didn’t leave the house for six months. All my doctors’ appointments were done at home.”
I’m doomed, I thought.
I hung up the phone and wandered into the backyard. It was a huge property, and there had to be lots for me to do. Not for six months though!
“Hey, gorgeous.”
I turned around to find Kade leaning on the little cage around the swimming pool. He held up a blue bag, and I was compelled to go over because I could smell the strawberry ice cream from the beach house.
