Gabbie POV

“That was the worst thing I’ve ever experienced, Gabbie,” Kade said as he kissed my shoulders.

“That’s saying a lot because McGregor Academy put us through a lot of shit.”

I listened to Kade speak, but I was lost in my own thoughts. We’d come back from the hospital two hours ago. Inez left thirty minutes ago. I hadn’t found the strength to get changed. I only had a white sheet around me. my jeans were soaked with blood. All I thought about the entire time I was being examined was the well-being of my baby.

“Gabbie, the baby’s fine. Everything’s going to be fine,” Kade whispered as he caressed my shoulders.

“Everything’s not fine. You heard Inez.”
