Kade POV

It’s been weeks since we’ve had movement from General Kahn. It had also been weeks since Calla was questioned by the betas and I, but the girl wouldn’t budge. I saw the fear in her eyes and a part of me wondered if Harlow was capable of sparking that level of fear in Calla.

Calla was a strong wolf, too. I would have thought she was capable of handling herself. I sent back her father’s wolf, but I wouldn’t let her leave the pack. She was under house arrest. The last thing I wanted was the only person with a lead to the attempted murder of my mate to end up dead.

Speaking of my mate I woke up to an empty bed.

“Gabbie?” I called.

“In the kitchen,” she replied.

I thought I’d find her eating. Her appetite had only grown in the past few days.
