Alex POV

Stormy had been weirdly quiet since the visit to Lettie’s. Was she still upset about Leiah? We hadn’t spoken in years.

We didn’t have a relationship at all!

Leiah found her fated mate though at least one of us was lucky but unfortunately, he was killed. I didn’t know if she had the heart to date again. Losing a mate was like losing a limb it was considered the first death.

Did I want to do that to Stormy? She wasn’t my fated mate though.

My feelings for her were strong. We were so different but my wolf turned into a puppy when she was around.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” I asked when we arrived at my house.

“Huh? Nothing, nothing.”

No one paid us any attention as they spoke and walked into the house.

I tilted her head.

“Don’t give me that. Is it Leiah? There’s nothing between us.”

“Alex, I’m fine.”

“Don’t be jealous.”

She rolled those eyes I adored. “I’m not the jealous type, Alex.”
