Gabbie POV

The sun had turned the sky orange. I was curled into a ball on Kade’s side. He had just travelled to unexplored territory and neither of us said a thing. We were perfectly content with the silence. Then he pulled his arm from around me and sat up. I missed his touch immediately. He stared out at the water for a couple of seconds before he stood. He remained silent the entire time.

“Kade,” I said.

He kept his back on me. I didn’t think he would respond. I expected him to walk away and leave me feeling used.

“Yeah?” He arched his brow at me.

“I’m not a good kisser.” I had to come up with something to say and I couldn’t believe I said that.

He chuckled, “Why would you say that, Gabbie?"

“Cole…”

“Right…” he stared off again. “You shouldn’t have kissed him.”
