Gabbie POV

“Gabbie!”

I turned to discover Alex marching behind me. I threw my head back and groaned.

“What Alex? It’s too early.”

“You’ve been keeping secrets from me?”

“What?” I grounded to a halt.

“You have a boyfriend and you didn’t tell me!”

“Where’d you hear that!”

He came up beside me and bumped my shoulders. It was just after breakfast and I didn’t have a class that morning, though I was heading to the castle to use the library. Alex had a big mischievous smirk on. How did he hear about Cole? He hadn’t even asked me to be his girlfriend yet…

“Come on Gabbie.”

“You’ve been listening to the gossip mills now?”

“More than one person’s talking about it.”

I stopped again. This time I couldn’t look at him. I wasn’t ashamed, but this was new to me. What did I even say? Cole hadn’t asked me to be his girlfriend I couldn’t say I was.

“Don’t look like that Gabbie. It’s okay if it isn’t true.”<
