Anderson wouldn’t stop.
No matter how many times I ignored his calls, deleted his messages, or blocked his number, he always found a way back in. Not directly at first, but through reminders—small, deliberate, impossible to fully ignore.
‘Kelly, just five minutes.’
‘You owe me a conversation.’
‘You think Adrian will protect you forever?’
‘I miss you.’
At first, it was easy to dismiss them as desperation. Words sent in frustration, regret, maybe even guilt.
But then it changed.
It escalated.
I started noticing him in places he shouldn’t have been. A familiar car parked too long near the grocery store. A figure across the street when I picked Harper up from daycare, standing still enough that it didn’t feel accidental anymore.
