Book 2: Declaring War

Felixe’s POV

I sat with my head in my hands in my office in Yellowknife. I couldn’t stay in the empty house in Hay River anymore. Dan and his team had searched for Derrick and Lyra all around and were on their way to report to me. I couldn’t wait to know what he had found out about them.

After forty-five minutes, Dan arrived with his team. One look at his grim features was enough for me to know he had met with no success.

“Update me, Dan! I’m waiting!” He slumped into the chair and shook his head in disappointment.

“There’s nothing much to update, Felixe. We have found no evidence of Derrick’s capture at the site. He simply vanished without a trace. As for Lyra, she’s with Leandros Vasiliou. He’s helping her escape from you. I have tracked them until Enterprise, but he has bluffed us and escaped with her. Maybe they’ve gone to Lucania. I’m sure Alpha Zephyrus is sheltering them for what you’ve done to his sister.”
