Hera’s POV

Felixe’s rejection destroyed my will to live. After returning home, I trudged over to my room and locked myself in. I knew Zephyrus had left to get Lena from Hazel’s house. This time, it didn’t affect me. Lena was lucky my brother loved her so much. I was doomed forever, and it was useless to take out my grudge on her.

I didn’t want to fight anymore if I were to live here all my life.

Tears fell from my eyes as I stared into the darkness outside, the snow-covered lake Lavin stretching for a mile in our backyard. I had so many childhood memories with my twin here. I wished I could go back to those carefree days! Being a grown-up wasn’t fun at all. I was better off dreaming and waiting than having my dreams shattered to pieces.

The future looked dismal to me. How would I bring up my pups all by myself? I didn’t have anyone to help or guide me.
