Chapter 76

Danica’s POV

My nap dragged on longer than I intended, and when I finally opened my eyes, I realized it was late into the evening. I recalled the incident that happened earlier in the day and I burst out laughing again. Thinking about me doing that over and over again made it seem really funny even though deep down, I knew I must have left a real grudge right there.

The laughter only lasted until Alexander clawed his way back into my thoughts.

Of course he did. He always does.

I found myself suddenly overthinking about the change in his expression that morning before he maneuvered his way into the bathroom and I keep wondering if he’s truly fine now. If he got it all sorted out… Whatever it was. Or if it has spiraled beyond his control.

I hoped it was the former.
