Chapter 12
Scarlett’s POV
The week flew by; I didn’t feel the moment when we reached November, but here we were, a month away from December and a month away from seeing my family again. My parents had been partying for the past while, traveling and working on foreign business deals. The situation with Olive had progressed quite normally; neither of us intruded into each other’s lives, and I felt we were drifting apart. At first, it was tough, but I’d gotten used to it.
My guardian angels must have taken pity on me, because things with Matt were going great. We met occasionally for meals, movies, or hanging out with friends. Julian found it amusing that Matt and I spent more time talking than kissing, as he put it, “just wasting time.”
The sunlight streaming through my bedroom window made me smile. When I glanced out, I saw Julian below with a girl. They kissed, and he grabbed her by the waist. I’d never thought he had a girlfriend; he’d never mentioned it. I moved away
