Scarlett’s POV
Day one trying to make Mérida and William get along. I made the decision to bring them together. After spending some time with Mérida, I realized that she was a good person, perhaps not entirely, but she had a good heart. Whenever she could, she helped the kids without saying a word.
When Louis or Francis were watching TV, and she wanted to watch it too, she stayed silent and walked away. During this time, she seemed like a prisoner—well, I’m exaggerating, she didn’t seem like a prisoner, but she acted like one. Despite having the freedom to leave or rent another place, she chose to stay here. I didn’t understand what kept her tied to this house and these people who didn’t want her, who felt no affection for her, until the looks told me.
