Chapter 34

Scarlett’s POV

I like sunsets, romantic movies, and baking cakes. Although my cooking skills are a bit lacking. The times I’ve tried to cook, I either burned the food, left it raw, or didn’t cook at all. Francis told me that with practice, I could get better by the end of the month. I thought he was saying it because of his feelings toward me until I saw it from a different perspective and understood what he meant.

For Francis, having coffee in the afternoon was a routine. He would have a small cup and watch TV without taking his eyes off the screen. We haven’t spent much time together, only talking when we’re all together, sharing some small things, but nothing beyond what’s necessary. For him, it must be complicated to feel something for me and pretend that nothing is happening. I’m sorry I can’t reciprocate his feelings, but at night, I still remember Matt telling me his story about the guy who stole his heart and made him feel loved. Was I not enough?
