Scarlett’s POV

Day two trying to get closer to Mérida.

Things have changed at home. When Francis left, I realized that I really liked him, that his dimples were cute, and that I cared about him, as a friend, but I cared about him. Francis left without hearing from my own mouth how important he was to me. I didn’t tell him anything I should have said, and maybe I destroyed him even more.

This year, I thought it would be a disaster. I started by imagining my life as a love story where I would meet a handsome guy who would feel something for me and would declare his love for me deliberately. Nothing could be further from the truth. My life turned dark. I reached a point where I didn’t know where I stood. I had been longing to meet someone who would save me from despair, someone who would want a broken and unreliable person, someone who would truly see me.
