Chapter 46
Scarlett’s POV
He pulled me to go to the square, and I followed without protesting. The romance movies I’ve seen didn’t prepare me to accept that the person who loves me is going to marry another woman. They all told me that in the end, he would choose me, and then it would be my turn to decide what to do, whether to stay by his side or not. I guess movies have lied to me my whole life. I suppose reality is harder or much more twisted than they make you believe it is.
“Can you believe one of my employees wants to get married in the casino?” William mentioned after a while.
“God, how romantic,” I teased.
“Of course it’s romantic,” he defended himself. “My casino is beautiful, warm, and there are a lot of people. If it’s set up properly, it can look amazing. Wouldn’t you like to get married in a casino? Because I would.”
“William, you’re lying. I can’t picture you getting married in a casino. It’s madness! And you do crazy things every century.”
